Team Arrow is still on the hunt for those responsible for the attempted assassination and apparent abduction of Ollie’s son, Connor.

After some funny scenes with Green Lantern as well as the interrogation of 2 ex-marines involving a dominatrix clown and a sheep, we find the team in London to find the mastermind behind it all. The revelation is surprising. Judd Winick writes another fun issue and Mike Norton steps in for Cliff Chiang as artist and does a great job. Grade: A-

Dark Horse Comics: Serenity – Better Days #2 ( of 3 )

I’m a huge fan of Joss Whedon’s Firefly/Serenity Universe and when issue 1 of this new mini arrived last month it went to the top of my read pile, I loved it and did my review of that issue. Issue 2 is even better and makes me even more furious that this show is no longer on TV. This one is filled with some hilarious fantasy sequences and great characterization as the crew enjoy their good fortune on a paradise planet. But, the militaristic Alliance is on the hunt for them and look intent on ruining Mal and company’s good time. Stellar writing and art! Grade: A+

DC Comics: Green Lantern Corps #23

This is another great issue of this ongoing series and it showcases some great Green Lanterns as we continue the story of the evil alien Mongul’s quest to collect as many Sinestro Corps power rings as he can. Good writing by Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason’s art is ruggedly beautiful. Pick it up! Grade: A

Hmm, since all three of these books were awesome maybe I should just say that these are my picks of the week. Anyhoo….

Even after years have passed, I still feel that it is a travesty that Joss Whedon’s excellent “cowboys in space” show, Firefly, was treated so badly by the Fox network when it originally aired, which lead to it’s cancellation. Oh, what could have been. At least we get a little Firefly love (or in this case it’s titled Serenity) in this first issue of what is sure to be a great mini-series. Written by Whedon with art by Brett Matthews, this adventure takes place between the end of the series and the feature film. The dialogue, action and art are perfect. BUY IT!!! Grade: A+

DC Comics: Superman #674

Written by Kurt Busiek with art by the freakin’ awesome Renato Guedes, we catch up with Superman/Clark Kent enjoying some family time after some tense battles in recent issues. But, of course, some superpowered asshole wants to ruin the Man of Steel’s good day. This issue is just okay but is worth buying for the beautiful Renato Guedes art (see cover above). If you are a Supes fan, buy it, but if not you might want to skip it if the art above doesn’t grab you. Grade: C

Okay, most of the time when a movie concept is turned into a TV show, it sucks. But from what I’ve seen and read about this one I think it might actually kick some ass.

On January 13, 2008 the pilot episode for Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles will premiere on Fox. Since it appears that 24: Season 7 is not going to be coming in January due to the Writer’s Guild strike, Fox is putting this on in place of the adventures of Jack Bauer.

The show takes place after the events of Terminator 2 with Sarah Connor (played by Lena Headey of 300) trying to protect her son and the savior of the human race, John Connor (played by Thomas Dekker of Heroes), from assorted dangers including the robotic Terminators that are sent back in time to eliminate him. There is a Terminator assigned to protect him played by Summer Glau (Firefly, Serenity)

which ensures some hardcore Terminator on Terminator action. Also starring is Richard T. Jones (Event Horizon and Judging Amy ) as an FBI agent on the trail of the Connors. Will it suck or will it rock? Tune in and find out!

Nathan Fillion (born March 27, 1971) is best known as badass Captain Malcolm Reynolds from the TV show Firefly and the film based on the show, Serenity. The man is a great actor but also seems to be an all around great guy–the kind of dude you’d want to have a beer with.

In addition to Firefly he has been in a bunch of TV shows (One Life to Live, Two Guys, A Girl, and a Pizza Place, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Lost, Drive and Desperate Housewives) and a few movies (Slither, Waitress, White Noise 2 and Saving Private Ryan). The man is proud to be most known as the cocky Captain Reynolds from Firefly and boy, did he make being a Browncoat look good. Don’t know what I’m talking about? Then do yourself a favor and rent Firefly and Serenity–you’ll be glad you did!

He is a sexy space cowboy so therefore…

Now Gina Torres is one beautiful actress who has appeared in shows such as Standoff, 24 and The Shield as well as The Matrix sequels and the Chris Rock comedy I Think I Love My Wife but to me she will always be Zoe from the short lived Fox show Firefly as well as the film based on it, Serenity.

The better half of actor Lawrence Fishburne (The Matrix as Morpheus), she has never done it for me like she did as tough-as-nails and sexy Zoe Washburne. So really, this Friday is all about this wonderful character she’s played. Dedicated Firefly/Serenity fans will totally get this….
