Hello there ATE readers. One of the new features that we would like to welcome you fine people to is what we call “The Blog of the Week”. What we will do in this section is showcase posts from other blogs out there in the “interweb” so you guys can see what we read. So to start us off we have a blog here from a one Atrociously Candid

she writes:

ok…so I know I am way past being due for one of my smart-ass, sarcastic blogs. But unfortunately, you really have to wait for the mood to strike for a really deep, motivational discussion. Well, forget deep and motivational–this is just a topic that I find interesting and maybe a few of you do also.

Immigrations seems to be a REALLY heated topic in any of circle of friends I have. But it also seems that when we mention immigration, everyone automatically thinks of Mexicans. I’m personally a fan of Mexicans. Some might argue that they are zapping the American economy and taking jobs from our decent, hardworking citizens. I actually think they are some of the hardest working people on the planet. Hell, you can’t pay 5 white boys to do the job of one Mexican these days. But aside from that… When people talk about “crossing the border” we act like America only has one of those line thingys.

I mean, we all assume the Mexican border. But what about the Canadian border?? A lot of those bastards are coming over here everyday too. We just don’t care about them as much because most of them are white (really white) and we don’t seem to have a problem with Caucasian immigrants…just the short little beaners. And another thing, for a country that was founded on immigration and freedom, we sure are getting awful picky about who we let in now. So at the bottom of the Statue of Liberty, I guess we should chisel a new clause on there that says, “oh yeah, everyone but wet-backs”.

And if you REALLY want to get technical and genealogical about it, “Mexicans” are direct descendants of the Pueblo, Anasazi, Mayan, Incan, Apache etc. Native Americans. So in actuality, all of us honkies (and other people) are the REAL immigrants. Now, one can’t present and argument about a “problem” with out at least attempting to develop some kind of semi-educated solution.

So here is what I propose: find another deserted island some damn where….put all of our repeat criminal offenders on the island just like they did hundreds of years ago in Australia. Then, with all of the tax money we would be saving, people wouldn’t care so much about the “illegal immigrants”. Well, some friggin’ redneck would still bitch, but he and his cousin/wife wouldn’t matter all that much. THEN, if that STILL isn’t enough to satisfy the greedy conservatist, get FOX to turn the island into a reality series with the proceeds directed back to the government. Not only will this help raise millions of dollars in revenue, but now all of the families of the island incarcerated will be able to see their loved ones on TV every week.

I don’t want to say I’m brilliant or anything…but don’t you think you should be writing a letter to your senator or congress person right about now?”
