Recently I’ve been completely engrossed in reading Batman RIP and all things Batman related.  I saw this pic up over at Iheartchaos.com this morning and let’s face it people this depiction is exactly how this election is shaping up.

I’m a little confused.  Let me see if I have this straight…

* If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your grandparents, you’re "exotic, different."

* Grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers: a quintessential American story.

* If your name is Barack you’re a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.

* Name your kids Willow, Trig, and Track: you’re a maverick.

* Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable.

* Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating: you’re well-grounded.

* If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate’s Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran’s Affairs committees, you
don’t have any real leadership experience.

* If your total resume is: local weather girl (sportscaster), 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with fewer than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with 650,000 people, then you’re qualified to become the country’s second highest ranking executive.

* If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you’re not a real Christian.

* If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you’re a Christian.

* If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.

* If, while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex education in your state’s school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant, you’re very responsible.

* If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family’s values don’t represent America’s.

* If you’re husband is nicknamed "First Dude", with at least one DUI conviction and no college education, who didn’t register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable.

OK, much clearer now.

I saw this and thought, "if this isn’t a glowing recommendation for who to vote for, I don’t know what is".

OK first things first, Baby Mama is out on DVD now so go check it out if you didn’t see it in the theatres earlier this year.  Second, my little geek crush Tina Fey and her friend Amy Poehler were at it again this past weekend on Saturday Night Live.

In the video you will see Tina and Amy poking fun at the two top women this year in politics – Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin.  The sad thing about this video is how much Tina really looks and sounds like Sarah Palin. 

It’s creepy I tell  you.  Sexy but creepy none the less.

For years I really didn’t bother paying attention to the political process other than to know who were my choices when it came down to it in choosing a president.  Now that I’m a bit older and bit more mature (but not by much) I find myself completely drawn to this election.

What I mean by that is that it seems for the first time I actually give a damn about who it is  I want sitting in that chair in the White House, making the decisions for years to come.  I will say that I find it fascinating when you have a candidate that will come out one day saying that they’re in this race for the long haul (*cough Romney, Edwards, and Giuliani cough*) and then the next moment they realize that they can’t win they say that they’re stepping aside for the good of they’re respected parties.

In any event I feel that this election is going to be one of the most important elections our country has every had in the sense that for the first time we legitimately have a chance to put either a woman or a black man in office.  Hell we might even do both.  So with all this crazy election stuff going on I see no reason why our BOM shouldn’t have something to do with it.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Propagandists

Karl Rove, Deputy Chief of Staff to President Bush, announced his resignation today effective on August 31, 2007. It is widely known that without Rove’s help George W. Bush probably wouldn’t have been elected.

Rove was Bush’s chief political strategist for his campaign in both elections and has been by Bush’s side for his entire term thus far. On April 23, 2007 a federal agency began a detailed investigation into the political operation of this administration and it’s architect, Karl Rove, to find out if any federal laws have been broken by making political presentations to government employees encouraging them to find ways to support Republican candidates. The investigation is still ongoing. There have been many departures of Bush aides in this last half of his last term and Rove will probably not be the last but he is certainly one of the most notorious. What will happen next? And can this administration give John Stewart of The Daily Show any more fodder? I’m sure they will.

It’s not what you think. These little green men are just two guys, Jason and Spencer, with a spaceship sized idea: Eco-friendly house cleaning services.

There is a month long waiting list for this tiny company which serves the environmentally concious area of DC and nearby Maryland. My hope is that they’ve earthed themselves into a prosperous, growing market. As we squabble back and forth about whether or not the human race is actually causing global warming and who is going to eventually foot the bill for our alternative fuel sources – we are losing sight of what we should be focused on. The impact that we can make right now, day to day. Because as a race we are the laziest we have ever been, it is easy to tell ourselves that what we do or do not do doesn’t make that much of a difference. The simple truth is that everything matters, all of it. You know it, but it’s just easier to lie to yourself. Stop. Live Better. Create some good in the world – you never know, it may turn it into a profitable business.
