Marvel Comics: Mythos: Fantastic Four

Marvel has produced several of these Mythos one-shots so far and each one has been a nice little treat that gives us the origins of some of our favorite Marvel heroes. They have done X-Men, Spider-Man, Hulk and Ghost Rider and now we get the Fantastic Four. You know the origin story but it’s told in a slightly different way here with some beautiful painted art throughout by Paolo Rivera. The art alone makes this a buy! Grade: B+

In honor of this being ATE’s first Halloween, (can you believe that we’ve made it this far?) I decided to go with a “Spooky” selection for today’s WW.

Blog of the Moment: Americans Shouldn’t Cosplay

Now here’s the thing, as a child I didn’t really have a lot of experience dressing up in costumes to go trick or treating, mainly because I grew up in a small country town and didn’t live in a “neighborhood” conducive of trick or treating. Therefore my older sister and I would dress up for Halloween and then knock upon my mother’s bedroom door and she would give us candy. (Don’t judge me monkey)

While I didn’t exactly care for the movie, the sight of an actual pumpkin bomb does make the geek in me feel all warm inside.

Me again, long time no hear from I know but I have had my hands full with other things you know?
Watchmen, the eagerly anticipated film by director Zack Snyder (Dawn of the Dead, 300) based on the acclaimed comic by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, is due in theaters on March 6, 2009. But there is a lot of controversy surrounding the film.
Writer Mark Millar and artist John Romita, Jr. just keep the "kick-assery" coming with the fourth issue of this highly entertaining and gloriously violent book.

Still one of the best Marvel books for your money!
Dude, this f#ckin' rocked! What the prequels should have been.
Okay, I currently have a house full of nieces, a brother-in-law and a sister-in-law so this will be short ...
I'm loving this freakin' series and I've never been a big Iron Man fan but writer Matt Fraction and artist Salvador Larocca are delivering the goods. The character is currently dealing with Zachariah Stane, evil son of his rival Obadiah Stane (Iron Monger), who is using Stark tech for terrorist attacks across the world. What makes this series and particularly this issue work is the writer is making Stark into a likable (albeit cocky) character once again. I dig! Grade: A
